Important information for families who have students that will utilize bus service during the 2026-27 school year.

CCS Families,

Every summer bus routes are evaluated for efficiency. This includes route miles, student load counts, number of student bus stops, stop locations and pick-up/drop-off times. Route changes and consolidations occur every year. The potential changes may include:

• Routing changes, creating a shorter or longer ride time

• Changes in pick-up and drop-off times

• Change in bus driver 

• Change in bus number(s)

• Assigned group stops

• Different student load counts (If you feel a bus is overcrowded, please communicate those concerns via our parent app or email. This assists in keeping phone lines open as much as possible during the first couple of weeks of school.)

You can start reviewing busing information utilizing our parent app on August 4. However, changes will continue to occur daily in the days leading up to school.  Please verify information the day prior (August 11) to the first day of school (August 12).

• If your child does not have information in this program regarding buses, they are not set up for busing. Please contact the school your child will attend, not the transportation department, and request bus service for your child. 

• Within the app, you can also sign up for important information. For example, if your child’s bus is running late, a notice can be sent to you regarding the late bus.

• Notify your child’s school of any changes for the next school year regarding addresses, phone numbers or emergency contacts so those can be updated for all systems. This is critical so we may send information or contact you when necessary.

• Understand that bus pick-up and drop-off times may be off schedule the first couple of weeks as we add/remove students from bus service and allow additional time to limit confusion. 

• Students who transition from elementary to middle school or from middle school to high school and are already set up for bus service do not have to notify your school or the transportation department. The information regarding busing will carry over. However, your child’s bus, bus driver, bus assistant, pick-up and drop-off time, and stop location may change with this transition. 

• Middle and high school students have their assigned bus park in an assigned spot (numbered) on Wave 1 or Wave 2 due to the number of buses required. Monitor our transportation page prior to the first day of school as documents will be available to review with your child regarding where their bus parks in the school lots on each wave. Our school staff will also have these and go over them with all students prior to dismissal on the first day of school. This prevents a lot of confusion and apprehension, particularly for students who are transitioning.
