Parents & Guardians

Pursuant to a recent change in 902 KAR 2:060, the Kentucky Department of Public Health has issued the following changes in immunizations required for students attending Kentucky public schools.  These changes include:

  • 2 doses of Hepatitis A Vaccine for all students age 12 months through 18 years of age.

               - That means EVERY student will require these vaccines next year.

  • 1 booster dose of the Meningococcal Vaccine for students age 16 or older.

               - For a total of 2 Meningococcal Vaccines

These changes will be effective for all students entering the 2018 -2019 school year.  This means that ALL students will have to submit an updated Kentucky Immunization Certificate reflecting the addition of these newly-required immunizations.

If you are unsure if your child has had the above immunizations, please call their physician.  If they are in need of these additional vaccines, please begin the process of having them immunized so they will be in compliance by the beginning of the 2018 – 2019 school year.

Immunizations are available at the Campbell County Health Center for all children for a minimal fee.  Families without health insurance qualify for the Vaccines for Children program which provides immunizations free of charge through the Health Department and many private health care providers.

Immunizations are available at the following agencies, in addition to your private health care provider:

  • Campbell County Health Center: (859) 431-1704
  • Health Point Family Care: (859) 655-6100
  • Little Clinic at Kroger (Cold Spring): (859) 448-1201

Please contact Diana Taylor RN at (859)635-2173, extension: 1008 or the nurse at your child’s school for questions or concerns.
