Hello and Welcome to  Crossroads Elementary!

I hope you are well and enjoyed your summer with your child(ren).

My name is Mrs. Lauri O'Halloran. The children call me Mrs. Lauri.

(easier than Mrs. O'Halloran) I am Mrs. Lankston's  Paraeducator.

I grew up in Grant's Lick Kentucky and I have lived in Campbell County all my life. I graduated from Campbell County High School. In my junior and senior year I attended the Charles E. McCormick Vocational/Technical Center where I also graduated as a Health Assistant and Veterinary Aide. I was able to co-op for the Grant's Lick Veterinary Hospital, local hospitals other health care facilities.

In 1999 I was offered a position teaching 2/3 year olds at Rainbow Christian Preschool in Fort Thomas. I taught there for 5 years.  In 2004 when my son started kindergarten, I was offered the job as a Kindergarten Para- Educator at Highland Heights Elementary, which I graciously accepted and remained there until they closed the school and transferred me to our new school, Crossroads Elementary. This is now my 16th year with Kindergarten and my 21st year in education.

 On a personal note:

I have been married to my wonderful husband for 26 years and we have  3 great kids. Our daughter will be 25 and a former student of NKU and Gateway.  Our middle child is our 21 year old son who will be in his 3rd year of college. He is also working in a job corp program in Colorado.  Last, but not least is our almost 9   year old son whom is at Crossroads.

I have many outside hobbies. My family and I also enjoy walking around our city, playing at the parks, being active outside and we love animals. We have had anything from dogs, a cat, hamsters, rabbit, gerbils, birds, turtles, a gecko, fish and a snake... I don't think I'm missing anything. laugh

I am very excited for the school year.

**Please know that I am here to help your child and to make them always feel welcomed and safe.
You are your child(ren)'s first and most important teacher to your child(ren) so reading and having fun with learning are very imporatant. It creates bonding time and a lifetime of  learning for their future.

I check your child's folders daily  for... Dr.notes, change of transportation notes, money envelopes, homework, etc.

(Please make sure FIRST AND LAST names are on  notes/envelopes well as what the subject that the money is for) .

Many times children get excited about bringing in things and toss it on my desk or in my folder basket. If there's no name or subject, then  I have no idea who it belongs to or what it is for.

If you need anything  at all or have any questions, please email Mrs. Lankston or me . We will respond back to you ASAP. smiley

Thanks so much and here's to a great new year !
