It is with great pleasure that I would like to announce that Campbell County Schools Driver/Monitor Training Department won the Most Improved Training Department awarded by the KY Department of Education Division of Pupil Transportation at the 25th annual Student Transportation Association of KY (S.T.A.K.) Conference on June 27th 2017. Of note, Campbell County Schools lowered their total number of incidents by 50% over the past year. There were 17 total incidents in 2016-17 compared to 43 in 2015-16. This is quite an accomplishment considering we drive over one million miles annually.
We are appreciative of the support that Superintendent Dr. David Rust, Associate Superintendent Dr. Shelli Wilson, Assistant Superintendent Mr. Joe Buerkley and the BOE has provided the department in regards to training and equipment over the past year. We truly believe that those efforts contributed greatly to providing quality drivers and the appropriate resources to ensure safe transportation for all Campbell County Students.
